Author Guidelines

1. General Information

  • AFIYATUN – Journal of Health Sciences accepts original research articles, literature reviews, case reports, and short communications in the field of health sciences.

  • Manuscripts must be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English, and must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.

  • All submitted manuscripts will undergo double-blind peer review.

2. Manuscript Submission

  • Manuscripts must be submitted online through the journal’s submission system.

  • Authors are required to register before submitting a manuscript.

  • All correspondence will be made through the registered email address.

3. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be structured as follows:

a. Title

  • Should be concise, informative, and reflect the content of the article.

  • Written in sentence case, not exceeding 15 words.

b. Author(s) and Affiliation

  • Full names of all authors, followed by their institutional affiliations and email addresses.

  • One corresponding author should be clearly indicated.

c. Abstract

  • Maximum 250 words.

  • Written in one paragraph, without references or abbreviations.

  • Must include: Background, Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.

d. Keywords

  • 3–5 keywords, separated by commas.

e. Main Text

The main text should follow the structure depending on article type:

For Original Research Articles:

  1. Introduction

  2. Methods

  3. Results

  4. Discussion

  5. Conclusion

  6. Acknowledgments (if any)

  7. References

For Review Articles:

  • Structured according to the topic, with clear subheadings.

For Case Reports:

  1. Introduction

  2. Case Presentation

  3. Discussion

  4. Conclusion

f. References

  • Use APA 7th edition citation style.

  • References should be recent (preferably from the last 5–10 years) and relevant.

  • At least 80% of references must be from primary sources (e.g., journal articles).

  • All references must be cited in the text and listed alphabetically at the end.

4. Formatting Requirements

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx)

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12 pt

  • Line spacing: 1.5

  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides

  • Paper size: A4

  • Use page numbers in the footer

5. Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures should be embedded in the text, not placed at the end.

  • Each table and figure must have a clear title and number.

  • Sources must be cited if previously published.

6. Ethical Considerations

  • Authors must ensure that the research complies with ethical standards, including obtaining informed consent (for human studies).

  • Plagiarism, fabrication, and falsification of data are strictly prohibited.

  • The journal uses plagiarism detection software to screen all submissions.

7. Article Processing Charges (APC)

  • AFIYATUN – Journal of Health Sciences does not charge any fees for submission, processing, or publication.

8. Copyright and License

  • All published articles are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.

  • Authors retain the copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication.
